KEMA Executive Board to speak at Smart Grid conferences in Asia

KEMA's Chief Executive Officer Thijs Aarten will address smart grid development at the Thailand Smart Grid Smart Utility Forum 2011. The event will be held on November 9th and 10th in Bangkok. This event will bring several policy makers, regulators, utilities, service providers, manufacturers, and IT-providers together to discuss the modernization of Thailand's transmission and distribution infrastructure. In his speech, Aarten will outline the transition towards a sustainable and reliable smart grid, based on full-scale demonstration projects in the Netherlands and abroad where KEMA played a role.

In the same week, KEMA's Chief Operating Officer Hans van Haarst will deliver a speech on smart grid development at the World Smart Grid China Focus 2011, November 8 – 11 in Beijing. As nearly 400 billion USD will be invested in smart grid worldwide by 2030, governments and industries face enormous challenges. With a number of stakeholders involved, clear communication will be vital to the success of these future investments. KEMA has been involved in numerous smart grid projects around the world, from feasibility studies and roadmap creation to the practical implementation of smart grid systems. Van Haarst will present the lessons learned from these projects.
